Kind of like a cowboy plumber who bolloxed up your indoor pipes demanding you pay him again to fix it. Like you’d trust him a second time to do it right and people are paying enough already.
basic utilities should always be state owned and not subject to out-of-control capitalists deciding that they haven’t punished us enough with their profiteering and theft.
What about the profits they were making, why were they not re-investing!
They should be charged with fraud!
Sure, we’ll do it on a loan of CPI+3% adjusted annually, and on the condition the maximum total compensation ratio from the highest worker to the lowest paid worker in the companies is 10:1.
How about no.
Thames Water alone have paid out an average of £225m per year in dividends since they were privatised. If even half of that had been invested back into the infrastructure we would have significantly less issues than we do now.
The Government should be telling these companies to fix their shit first and deliver the service you are charging people for before paying out billions to investors.
Urm, no. I’m not paying the price for your terrible financial management.
