I think it’s fairly obvious without minister guidance phones use was discouraged and prohibited by schools as soon as they became more accessible.
The problem is really it’s nearly impossible to prevent – good kids won’t use them during lesson time and such. But to try and ban them completely is another ridiculous and wasted Tory effort to be seen to be doing something pointless
Gillian a bit of advice, maybe focus on the school not falling down before worrying about whether a couple of kids are on Instagram

My sons learned more from Wikipedia than from school. Just because Keegan’s kids spend their time using their phones for Tiktok and Instagram that is no reason to penalise those children who see it as an educational resource.

You’d be better of teaching kids how to use the internet.
That might sound like a simple enough task but they go in blind and follow whatever else they might see on screen as being the norm.
I wouldn’t ban them, just jam them. Then only allow teachers and school devices on the network

I don’t appose to them stopping kids using them during school I just don’t know how practical it is to ban them.
Pretty sure you are not allowed to use mobile phones in schools already.

i was a bad kid in school as were most of my school friends, banning phones wont do jack shit. the good kids already dont use their phone during class and the bad kids dont care what the teacher says and are happy to disrupt a hour long lesson over getting asked to put their phone away.
