  1. That is an absurd crime, were talking jail time for making a gesture? Really

  2. He’ll get what’s coming to him. Council estate justice is ruthless.

  3. This is clearly a sickening offense. I’m not advocating it of course, but council estates deal with people like this outside of the law. At the very least, the club should dish out lifetime bans for anyone who makes fun of cancer victims.

I don’t know if people should be put in prison for laughing. I can see extremists and oppressive religions using something like this to put anybody away that disagrees with them.

  4. What a vile thing to do. I don’t understand how any sane person could do what he did and still go to bed and sleep soundly at night (even if he hadn’t been arrested and named and shamed).
Imagine having to face your family, friends & colleagues again after this. Or if one of your relatives or friends kids ever got cancer, how could you face them, with them knowing what you did? You couldn’t comfort them, because you would know that they know what you really think about kids with terminal illnesses. Or maybe if you’re the type of person to do something like this, you’re also the type to not care about those things.

  5. Remarkable how quickly they can be identified, police catch up with them, court Monday, now apparently potentially be sent to *prison* next month. The response has had death threats sent to him and his family have basically gone into hiding… is this not worse that waving a picture of someone to a crowd of people? I am not even sure what the point of it was.

  6. Beyond the cretinous thought process which informed that gesture imagine being the wife/girlfriend/mother of that man, maybe you knew he was a bit of an idiot but nothing so crass as this. Now you have to talk to him/sleep with him have sex with him/wonder if you were a bad mother or not (delete as applicable!). Very depressing for his family unless they are also trash.

  7. What did he actually do? I hate when articles report on a crime with no details of the crime

  8. Disgusting behavior but I’m a bit concerned this is a police matter. totally in favour of the club punishing them in any way they can, but I dont think it’s a crime to be a cunt as much as I hate to admit it when someone is being this much of a cunt,

  9. this was horrible.

however, it shouldnt be a crime.

    we live in a tyranny.

  10. State of this country when doing something like this ends up in a court case. It’s not a nice thing to do, but he just showed a picture and laughed. At what point do we draw the line.

If he showed a picture of a dead celebrity and laughed, would he be getting the same punishment? Of course not. This is just a knee jerk reaction because Twitter was upset at it.

Police love a good Twitter outrage case to sink their teeth into. And they wonder why people’s confidence in them is low. Quick turn around on this crap, but when your neighbour gets their car stolen all you get is a plod knocking on your door telling you to buy a steering wheel lock.
