Australia prepares the first batch of Slinger counter-UAV systems for Ukraine

  1. Quite a smart system… designed for cheaply disposing of the lowest end of drones and for being deployed anywhere very quickly.

    30mm proximity explosive rounds for larger or further targets, dirt-cheap 7.62 rounds for closer and smaller targets.

    That should clear off loitering observing drones and hopefully prevent suicide drones also.

  2. If it can shoot down lancets on the regular. That could mean that Ukraine shoot their artillery from the same spot more often. They maybe able to keep have multiple guns lined up and shooting from the same spot at the same target.

  3. I’ll be impressed if it accurately leads the target so that it shoots them down while they’re moving.

  4. Sounds like it is a perfect match for Ukraine’s drone problem. (knowing the Ukrainians, they well be able to use it to take out missiles as well. Gotta love those crazy Cossacks.)
