Taxis on strike

  1. So… Uncle Kosti the kapareji wants to drive his taxi on the public transport lane, and he also wants to keep limiting the amount of people who can operate a taxi service in Cyprus? Am I getting that right?

    Also wtf does that mean?

  2. As a customer, .!.

I once waited an hour for a taxi at Monday.

Drivers often just cancel rides because they can.

More than half of them drive like they are riding a fucking donkey in a village.

“Luxurious” cars often are 20+ years old, and falling apart.

And after all of that, it’s 10+ euro for a short ride.

Just let anybody who wants work as a taxi.

  3. It must be hard for them realizing that they days, years and decades of being able to scam, lie and cheat their way into 40 EUR fares for driving 12 minutes are coming to an end.

People complain about rent in Limassol; but you need to compare Cyprus taxi prices with those in New York. Most of my cab fares in NYC (Manhattan area) are around $12-$20 and I get to sit in a new vehicle. Here I pay 30-40 EUR just to go from Ayia Napa to Protaras and I sit in a smelly and rattling Mercedes older than my pappous while the driver is shouting at his brother on the phone and almost crashing into oncoming traffic.
