Having seen the one in Vegas (in the accompanying video), i honestly think it would be an incredible landmark for London. I admit though, i’m not sure how i’d feel if i lived close to it, i might end up feeling priviledged that i had such a spectacular view all the time, or, fed up of the light pollution with my blinds closed most evenings.
Funnily enough my biggest concern isn’t whether or not they build it, but whether it will be of the same quality as the American one, because lets be honest, we always seem to do things a bit half-assed, and i wouldn’t be surprised if we ended up with an inferior version in some way
A giant globe display? In London? With our energy prices? Man alive, it’ll probably cost 5% of the UK GDP to keep that thing lit up.
How long until it gets hacked and we end up with 300ft tall bukkake videos?
I don’t know why they’re complaining. Stratford is in dire need of venues and amenities.
I don’t think UK can afford it right now, maybe later.
