  1. Since when did Hungary rule Transylvania for hundreds of years?

  2. It is said that the Hungarian king sent a Romanian (Vlach) from Maramureș to create a state over the Carpathians in order to shield Hungary from invaders. That country became Principality of Moldavia and after not many years rebelled against Hungary and went on its own way. This is kinda funny. Of course, history is much more complex than this.

Further on, over the next centuries Moldavia was allied or fought with Hungary, Poland, Russia and the Ottomans. Depending on the situation.

In a way, we can make a joke and say that Hungary created Romania, lol.

  3. So is Austria and Austria-Hungary counted as Hungarian rule here?

I thought Hungary basically didn’t exist as a sovereign country for most of modernity.

  4. Weird map. Naples under personal union is shown, but not the two brief Polish-Hungarian unions.

  5. This is what? I dont see the lines in the middle the Ottomans made.

Also, it counted the independence era of Transylvania as Hungarian rule? How to define ‘Hungarian rule’? Bc it was not ruled by the King of Hungary at all.

  6. Trashingmadpl has great history videos and he does explain what he’s done here/makes disclaimers. The problem with randomly uploading (stealing) maps like that is that these disclaimers get lost.

  7. No offense, but Hungary ceased to exist as an internationally recognized state for about 280 years (1541-1920).

This fact should modify the map.
