  24. Glad they are saying it out loud now. This has been speculation on the part of many observers, not least of all the specific countries mentioned.

    Good to hear Russia admit it, and this may(?) help us corner our nutjobs here in the US who for whatever reason think Putin just wants some edges of Ukraine. Vivek comes to mind though he’s hardly the only one. I’m not sure even they know why they love being anti-UA; some are pro-Putin, but some of them just want to be contrarian and this sort of expansionist talk may help quell some of that latter group.

  25. Those countries are about as much part of Russia as New York is historically Dutch. Going somewhere once does not make a place yours, that’s a stretch even by colonial terms.
