The EMP “somewhere in siberia” would probably have less impact on ukraine as it would have on the countries in central asia and more importantly russia right? Wouldnt that be helpful for ukraine or am i confused why would they make a threat like this…

    Found this on fontanka.ru and later on nv.ua and there was a screenshot of the video with English subtitles.
    Well, a giant electromagentic pulse would probably also disable all radio and TV receivers (and transmitters), maybe also pacemakers and other medical devices.
    And of course a lot of information would only arrive with the speed of a pigeon, also about failures of the Russian army.
    The Russian news site fontanka.ru has also noted that Peskov(!) has distanced himself from this Margarita statement.

    As microelectronics everywhere from Omsk to Vladivostok go on the fritz, and radio communications are heavily interrupted for days on end, the world will stand in awe of Russia’s action. A certain kind of awe anyway.

    As the electronic infrastructure of Kazakhstan, Mongolia, and China are degraded, and those developing nations are forced to rebuild their nations at considerable public expense, the truly historical diplomatic impact of Russia’s decision will indelibly change the face of central Asian politics.

    An amazed world! Historical shifts! Those sound good, right? Surely that’s how Putin will show his 11-dimensional genius.

    And if that doesn’t work… Russia could always set fire to its own feet.
