Good. Someone going to a historic ruin, and taking a very obviously carved marble shouldnt be able to play the ignorance card. Malicious destruction of historic artifacts should be punished properly.

I can understand the confusion when I see the first picture but the second? That’s man made, that’s not a random rock on the ground.
Were we supposed to send them off with flowers for stealing historical artifacts?
I thought they had bought them, in which case I could see the “we had no idea”, but literally collecting them at an ancient ruin? They had to know, it’s marble and a beautifully carved rosetta.
Well it IS smuggling.
I hope tourists will learn to be respectful towards the host country they visit.
