Kielty broke all audience records with the opening episode, so comparing the shows that followed will always make it look like the audience is falling.
He’s well ahead of where Tubs was on all the subsequent episodes – and this data does not include RTE Player streams.
By Episode 4 in 2022, Tubridy was down to 350,000 viewers.
We’ll see what Friday brings.

The novelty of a new host is gradually wearing off, it will be the standard of guests that will dictate the ratings going forward.
Those bars are not scaled properly either
Looking at the figures, the yellow should be shorter in relation to the green when you look at the numbers.
People tuned in to see the new host who wouldn’t normally watch. It will level out regardless.
You are trying to manufacture controversy.
He’s relatively cheap at least. He has a BBC radio show on Saturday morning in Belfast. Not sure how he does it by the time gets out the door and up the road.
I’d say the next two weeks will tell alot.
Turbidy debuted to 1.6 million with about 930k viewing the full thing. Skimmed the article you referenced and didn’t see if they used the “watched” or “fully watched” metric.
A new host debut is meant to generate the most buzz there is unless you have a massive guest on, so if they used the “watched” metric then Tubbs had double the viewership. Even if they went with “fully watched” he still won out by a small margin

His interview with Rob Delaney was brilliant. I don’t watch the Late Late but I hunted that one down on the awful iPlayer after seeing a clip and it was worth all the hassle.
It hasn’t been adjusted for inflation though.
Tubridy is bad
While I certainly don’t begrudge Kielty the gig, as it’s a decent income boost I wonder did he ask for a guest log of the last few years of the Tubs era. It would have given him a decent insight into the bookings likely for him to make merry with.
Let’s see what people from the RTÉ canteen are on the show this week. Why didn’t they interview snoop when he was in ireland last week?
Its a country special this week, like anyone asked for that. Just gives them the excuse to not have celebrities on, as per
I watched it on Friday and couldn’t stop cringing at the attempt to replicate Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Fallon etc. That American cheesiness can stay across the pond.
