Hello! I got this letter from the tax office. It seems to be a reminder that I need to pay outstanding taxes. Now this has me very concerned. First of all, I have already paid taxes for a similar letter a few months ago (I did some investment previous years, which I assumed the letter was referring to) and I thought that was the end of it. But now I got this. First of all, I have not received the “first” letter that this reminder is referring to, secondly I thought I only had to pay outstanding taxes once a year. Will I get these letters every few months, or has there been a mistake? I lost the money during the stock market crash and I have not made profit since. I can’t afford to pay this (again) and I’m not sure what to do.

  1. Call the number on top tomorrow. Ask them what this letter is referring to and that you paid a similar one this year already. It would be good if you had the other letter on hand. They will tell you then.

  2. This is the bill for the 3rd quarter, you probably paid for the 2nd quarter. They seem to think you have some kind of regular income that has to be taxed, and you probably unknowingly agreed to pay the taxes quarterly. Without all your tax information, it is hard to determine, so talk to a tax consultant about this.
