What happens if a tanker belonging to a NATO country is hit – will that prompt NATO to attack Russia?
And how exactly will they do that from Novorossiysk?
Russia’s war is going so well, they can’t even conduct a sea blockade against a country with no navy properly! Comedy, utter comedy!
But seriously though, it’s rarely discussed how much of a success this part of Ukraine’s counteroffensive is. They neutralized Russia’s navy without having one themselves. This is like if Iraq managed to neutralize a core part of the US military. But it’s rarely discussed thanks to the media not covering this at all.
Not to mention this will likely pay massive dividends later down the line wrt Crimea.
This seems like a shit plan. Any mine in Ukrainian territorial waters would be easy to blame on Russia and any mine in any other country’s territorial waters would be an act of war. And as far as I understand these ships are hugging those waters?
