Technically the red line is not crossed until Ukraine actually starts fighting in Crimea (actually landing troops and capturing territory). Right now this is looking like an impossibility — since the Ukrainian progress in the past month has been glacial. Not sure why.
By the time this war ends, the bottom red stripe of the Russian flag will be erased.
Putin knows using nukes is an admission that russia lost the war…and potentially justification for the west to nuke him…
Crimea will always be Ukraine. Soon EU and NATO. No pasarán.
