  1. Oh boy, get ready for a lot of articles about the Maldives honoring old Nazis.

  2. Being a smaller country between India and China right now sounds like a less than ideal situation.

  3. Another chinese debt trap in making. And there are only alleged 75 Indian military personnel in Maldives stationed for training of Maldivian army for helicopters given by India to Maldives.

In couple years for all we know, port will be leased to china for 100 years

  4. I just want people to remember

that India prevented **A COUP** in MALDIVES once on request of their government

So Indian military personnel Staying there for training MALDIVES miltary on Helicopters they donated makes sense

I am not pro-India but *FUCK CHINA*

Soon Maldives will be in a debt trap and will have to give a port to CHINA for 90 years **LIKE SRI LANKA**

  5. Maldives need to understand they don’t look like Chinese and more connected to India. Also China is no one’s friend. Every country China invest in, defaults. If they want to go Pakistan or Shree Lanka way, choice is there’s. India will be there with you when you need it the most. That’s all.

  6. Just as China has demonstrated there is a need to balance its excesses in the West Philippine Sea, India is demonstrating a need for balance against its excesses. Having two authoritarians checking one another is not a bad thing.

  7. I really don’t understand why everyone is talking about Chinese debt traps everytime China is involved in some kind of deal with a country.
Have there been any examples of China seizing property by force when a country defaults on a loan? What exactly is preventing all these “debt trapped” countries from nationalizing these assets and leaving China out to dry.

  8. Well boys, let’s bet on which story he’s about to fall from. I bet 12th.

  9. I love how every time India (or any other “non-aligned” country for that matter) is realigning themselves politically, the people on this sub say things like “governments look for their own people first” but than in this case the comments claim that it is betray, Chinese debt trap and a fatal mistake.

I hate the CCP China and I hope the goverment comes to an end soon, best would be today, but this is just such a double standard here in my opinion. Especially considering that there are also internal processes in the Maldives which come into play, especially the long-lasting Indian involvement in Maldives’ internal politics which led to the election of the pro-China president in the first place.

  10. All pro-China nations have failed their national economy perfectly. But this leader might not have known the fact that many African & Asian countries have gone through the harsh moment so far. If leaders are so foolish, citizens can’t become happier people no matter what.

  11. So China v. India war coming soon? I don’t like it. I don’t like it one bit.

  12. I’m not surprised. One of major reasons is no doubt that the Muslim majority society in Maldives is livid with the kind of anti-Muslim violence and rhetoric emanating from the Indian government. Modi’s foreign policy continues to isolate India.

  13. India vs China? This thread is going to be awesome for nationalist spam.

  14. >Be Maldives

    >Going to submerge soon.

    >Only country where you can take refuge is India.

    >Antagonize India.

    >**_imshoshmaarrttt_**
