It’s a move in the wrong direction for green energy.
Germany: We need to shut down nuclear power plants, they’re bad for the environment!

Yeah meanwhile we (average people) have to reduce our emissions, use paper straws etc while governments do this shit. Can’t even stick with one narrative at a time without contradiction. Green washing is a farce used to scam millions out of the middle class.
What is wrong with nuclear?
Why should I try to cut back on fuel use, recycle, use less electricity, etc. What’s the point when a major nation does something as damaging as this that counterbalanced anything I could ever do?
Imagine being a green party, but you turn off functional nuclear power plants and bring back online coal burning ones.
And you do that for ideological reasons, completely unsupported by science or empiric evidence.
And then imagine being completely perplexed about why noone wants to vote for you any more.

Isn’t this to help avoid problems from natural gas shortages ? Didn’t they have problem the last 2 winters because they depended on Russia? Isn’t this emergency backup power?

On the other hand. Polish goverment accepted plans to construct in incoming years, a selection of nuclear reactors and most importantly Small Modular Reactors. SMR in short.

Brilliant move decommissioning those carbon-free nuclear plants.
It‘s a failsafe.
They are held in Reserve. They will not be turned on if they are not needet.
I really dont get it, last i heard was that Gas storage for the Winter is covered. I mean it.

[Only found a german source](https://www.ndr.de/nachrichten/info/Gasspeicher-in-Deutschland-So-steht-es-um-die-Fuellstaende,gasspeicher120.html) but it states gas storage is 96 percent full (8 percent more than in 2022) and due to the warm september hasnt been used that much as in previous years.
Now they dont say how big the storage is, but i wonder why numbers are higher in the previous year and they are bringing coal back.
