The NFL is obviously milking the Swift media to a very annoying degree. In all the years I’ve watched the NFL, I’ve never seen them clamp on to such a mundane thing like this. It’s annoying, but I guess you make money when you can.
The bigger issue came from the outcome of the last game. There were some very questionable things that happened which all benefitted the Chiefs in a very close game. Immediately after the game is over, the official NFL page on Twitter is posting pictures of Taylor and even changed their bio to something about “Chiefs are 2-0 since becoming swifties.”
I’m not saying that the NFL is fixing games to make more money off of Swift, but it’s incredibly bad optics when you combine the abnormal amount of media she’s getting in the NFL with bad calls that are benefitting the team she is rooting for.
