“Gardaí set up Operation Fleming to investigate, after they were alerted that customers buying boxes and streaming access were paying into Irish PayPal accounts.
In March 2018, a test purchase was made from StreamSupreme of a 12-month subscription service costing £140 (€162), affording the end user access to most of Sky’s streaming content, BBC and Motion Pictures in the US. A monthly subscription to Sky Sports in Ireland costs €38.99.
Several more test purchases were made, including an illicit Android box ordered from JarvisBox.com and posted from a post office in Ashbourne, County Meath.
CCTV footage obtained from the post office identified McGrane’s wife posting the box, and paying for postage with a card linked to her PayPal account and the accused’s Permanent TSB account.”
Can’t do the time, don’t do the crime.
The weakest of crimes imaginable. The victims are billion euro corporations. A national police force should have no involvement.
The only crime here was the guy selling stuff that is available for free.
Can create operational special undercover turbo task force doing fake buys like the fucking wire but are powerless to stop fentanyl so just give you a warning about it. . . . . . .
You won’t convince me that The Garda aren’t in the pocket of those media companies. Sky/BT/Virgin/Eir/etc are absolutely paying for “special operations” to track these heroes down.
It’ll be fucking infuriating when this guy gets put away for a few years next week for facilitating free TV when violent criminals and pedos get lighter or even suspended sentences.

They went to some effort, the AGS..
A whole ‘operation’ set up, just for this.
