  1. It really is quite surprising how unalarmed everyone appears to be about how absurd this year has been.

How badly wrong do things have to get before people go from ‘concerned/worried’ to ‘acting’?

As in, not just calmly doing their recycling and waiting for an election while the government licenses new oil fields, airports expand, and new roads are built.

    Actually *doing* something.

  2. ‘The government’s controlling the weather man, paint your house blue’ or some shite like that

  3. You’re all going to die, but God Forbid that someone’s enjoyment of Les Mis gets interrupted.

  4. [Climate Action Tracker have downgraded the United Kingdom](https://climateactiontracker.org/countries/uk/).

We used to be ‘nearly sufficient’. We are now ‘insufficient’.

    > The current UK government is **wrecking** the United Kingdom’s long-held claims to **climate leadership**, making a series of **U-turns on key climate policies**, demonstrating **chronic delays** and a **lack of vision** in developing new policies, and **actively undermining investor confidence** in the country’s commitment to **climate action**. As a result of these worsening policies, the **CAT now rates UK’s overall climate action as “Insufficient”**, one grade lower than before. The UK needs to urgently **accelerate climate policy development and implementation** to **regain credibility** on the global stage.

  5. Yes but the imaginary green line went up a tiny bit higher than if we had acted so once that trickles down we’ll be fine I’m sure
