  1. >“It is important for all Alabamians to know that the ~~legal~~ racist and shitty portion of this process has not yet been completed,” Mr. Allen said in a statement.

    FTFT

  2. Alabama finds it very frustrating that EVERYONE has to have equal rights. Even if they aren’t White. Can you believe such a thing? What’s next, female drivers? Integrated schools? Not if the South has anything to say about it.

  3. Do the right thing? This is Alabama we’re talking about.

  4. Or to put it another way, stops illegally flipping the seat to Republicans.

  5. I assume this is not a done deal. Could this case be appealed up to the Supreme Court?

  6. “Flips Seat to Democrats”

or alternatively phrased – “Enables Elective Representation.” You know, the whole point of the representative system?

  7. The phrase isn’t “flips seats to democrats”, the correct statement would be “stops republicans from subverting democracy by stealing seats that don’t represent the votes”.

  8. Click-baity headline designed to sow discord and attain clicks/views/engagement.

Proper Headline: Alabama ordered to use non-biased congressional map.

  9. They still won’t do it. They want to force Biden to enforce it with federal authorities so they can cry victim.

I hope they get a turd in their Cocoa Puffs.

  10. And then the Dem takes off his/her mask and turns out to be a GOP member

  11. The important part of the article:

    >A three-judge panel of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Alabama signed off on a map that increases the percentage of Black voters in one of the state’s six majority-white congressional districts to 48.7 percent, up from about 30 percent, while preserving the state’s lone existing majority-Black district.

And because Alabama is going to be Alabama:

    >Wes Allen, Alabama’s secretary of state, said his office would implement the map “forced upon Alabama” for the 2024 election cycle, though he signaled the state would continue to appeal use of the map afterward.

  12. Correction

Alabama is forced to stop disenfranchising it’s voters, potentially changing the political landscape.

  13. From what I remember, Alabama is the state with the largest percentage of black eligible voters (not registered or likely voters). Perhaps this will help incentivize those that are eligible to register and vote now that they have a real chance of representation.

  14. Alabama’s Attorney General:

“Not fair, you gerrymandered my gerrymander”

  15. I’m surprised Alabama didn’t just flat out refuse to abide by the judgement. They’ve stonewalled this long

  16. >”It is important for all Alabamians to know that the legal portion of this process has not yet been completed,” Mr. Allen said

Well, maybe not for you. 🙂

  17. Imma change that title for you real quick “Alabama Is Ordered to Use Congressional Map That Makes Black People’s Vote Count.” Yeah that’s better.
