Off course as for the rail system that is not being built due to cost, HS1 was 68 miles and a whopping £6.8 billion opening in 2007. Showing that while budgets are squeezed, HS2 is largely a one party one clusterfarce of mismanagement.

GDP has barely changed when adjusted for dollar values in the past 15 years.
