Even my favorite senator Bernie Sanders supports Ukraine, the House has 316 congressional representatives (large majority) who will vote for Ukraine aid. They just need a Speaker who will let the House actually vote on Ukraine aid.
The US has had difficulty the past 20 odd years with their type of government. Had worked remarkably well with both sides creating reasonably honest checks and balances. Now it seems it’s simply the GOP hating anything democrat no matter what. Little give and take. Seems ever since Obama and worsened with Trump. Sad.
Why isn’t the lend lease being utilized?
Biden and team were warned about this. But still they slow-rolled weapons to Ukraine, denied them real game-changing weapons for a year and a half. Now they’re “concerned”? If Ukraine loses this war, or if the conflict ends up “frozen”, Biden will be held responsible by voters. Instead of a major foreign policy victory, his opponents will say, “This is Afghanistan all over again.” And Biden will have no answer for this.
The entire segment of the Democratic party that believes in “incremental” responses to fascist imperialist aggression needs to lose their positions and influence. Starting with Jake Sullivan but not only him. They need to clean house of the Obama-era weaklings, the type who allowed Assad to get away with mass-murder, and let Putin invade countries near and far.
Don’t see why not. As stated it’s intended to help friendly countries purchase military stuffs. Last I checked, we’re pretty fucking friendly with Ukraine, and they still are a country, so start printing. Of course we all know it won’t be that easy. Blows my mind one of the two political parties/realistic choices people have are literally trying to stop funding and weapons to Ukraine. Ukraine, a country being invaded by *Russia*, those people who are responsible for us teaching kids to hide under desks if they see a flash. The big bad Reds, literally the bad guys in the last… what, 30+ years of Hollywood? It’s just absolute madness IMO, didn’t we used to hate Russia/Soviet Union?
