How about we just drop the electoral college style of voting and go with popular vote
When the courts ask either party to draw new maps, they should say you get X days to draw a map the courts accepts or the opposing party gets to draw the map.
Now who’s going to watch them and make sure they actually use the new map. Is there any oversight or are we just hoping they’ll actually follow the law.

Why is *this* the judge they’re going to listen to? It doesn’t seem like the enforcement for this has any weight behind it.
Next step: follow up and ensure they actually do it. Court orders don’t seem to carry much weight with the GQP crowd.
We need that judge here in Ohio. Republicans on the map’s committee have been able to get away with ignoring the State Supreme Court’s orders( at least FIVE times now) to create a fair map, not gerrymandered in Republicans’ favor. Federal judges then said an unconstitutional one could still be used, because time was running out for another map to be submitted to the court, when another election was approaching. We’re about to head into the November election with an unconstitutional map still in place. Ohioans voted to replace an unfair map with a fair one, back in 2018! How the h*ll is it a democracy if republicans are allowed to ignore decisions the voters and State Supreme Court make? Unfair maps got us people like Jim Jordan in the House
Could this potentially be the start of a push against gerrymandering??
Soooo they have to abide by the map, but will they actually do it?
