  1. What other cards does he have left. Kim Jong Un probably gave him some tips.

  2. *Thing is, the west has them too. And can “test” them somewhere in RU as well.*

See how that rhetoric can play out?

  3. I think the Russians should revisit the idea of nuking themselves in hopes that the radiation travels through the mantle of the Earth and absolutely obliterates NATO’s chips. Moscow is pretty close to Europe, maybe do a test nuke there and see if it works? I feel like this idea has potential.

  4. No fear any more. Too much crying wolf. Like Crimea is a red line. No credibility

  5. The only thing he is escalating is his and his shithole country’s demise.

  6. The USA perfected nuclear testing towards the end of its series, e.g. 1991-1992.

The last tests in the US produced 0.1 to 1 Curies’ worth of fallout by venting.

The USSR could only dream of getting anywhere near to that. They would dirty up Siberia in no time.

  7. “In the event of an attack on Russia, no one has any chance of survival,” he said, adding that he was “not sure if we need to carry out nuclear tests or not”.

So, “I have a gun, now I can do whatever I want, and if anyone interferes with me I’ll shoot everyone?” is this the final answer after a millenniums and century of development of human politics and culture?

  8. No, they didn’t escalate rhetoric. It’s the same as it always was.

  9. Time for some other countries to announce some nuclear tests in Russia as well.

  10. Will the testing go as well as their recent moon landing attempt?

  11. Russia is the only nuclear state that has never conducted a nuclear test .

The Soviet unions last test was 1989 , all the scientists that designed and tested that bomb are dead or long retired

In reality, they will never conduct a nuclear test. Because if they do so and it doesn’t work , they will lose all credibility . And no one would fear them

It’s just not worth the risk

  12. if chernobyl has taught us anything….. the russians need to keep testing

  13. Russia can’t afford testing – it would literally just be using old nuclear stock that is close to expiry as a sabre-rattle, and China would be *thoroughly* unimpressed.

NATO has made it clear that any nuclear fallout that ends up over NATO countries will constitute an attack, and will trigger article 5

  14. He is really the most insane madman in the world. And he has the nuclear button. That is totally terrefying. I seriously think that the other world dictator, XI…. gets involved and stops Putin. China has the power to stop him and i am sure they would not want a nuclear attack on their doorstep…..

  15. “Testing” implies it’s not solid working yet. Go ahead and test away, P-bag. We have lots of shit that already just works.
