  3. I can smell some corruption incoming. Tory donors and MPs buying the land at a reduced rate, possibly with the council’s giving the go-ahead to whatever planning permission they request.

    This is public money—so turn these lands into public parts/wildlife reserves. Rewild them, set the plots of land aside for nature.

  4. Make it all one big public park. Then in 20 years time we might have a government competent enough to get the job done.

  5. Seems like a bargain they spend 250 million a month just on hotels for folk who have no right to be here.

  6. No doubt will be sold of ASAP for a fraction of this yet would probably be then be worth 2x this value if someone tries to buy it back in the future to actually build the Birmingham-Manchester line
