“What Russian Air Defence doing”… As rumored, Russian friendly fire occurred near Nikolske, not far from Mariupol. Video is allegedly showing the aircraft’s crash site.

1. According to reports in Russian sources, including those associated with Russian military aviation, another incident of Russian air defense friendly fire occurred. It is reported that the pilot survived. Hopefully more details will appear soon.

2. Russian Air Force affiliated channel Fighterbomber suggests that again a Russian fighter jet/helicopter was shot down by friendly fire.
   “At this rate of work of our valiant air defense, we will soon be left without aviation,” the channel states.

4. It could be that someone hacked the friend or foe ident systems. That would make things interesting for the terrorist ruzzians.

5. You’ve got panicked people manning missile systems, probably weak on training. They know their mates have been wiped out by incoming missiles. They’re not going to hang about trying to work out what the flying thing is, they’re just going to launch.

   Then they’ll get beaten for shooting down their own planes, so they’ll be hesitant, and get wiped out. All good.

   Bit of a pity the pilot survived, but you can’t have evertything.
