Oh cool, are they gonna fund the building of new homes?

>Under Labour’s plans, the party would prevent developers from “wriggling out” of their affordable housing obligations, known as section 106 rules, by setting up a new expert unit to give councils and housing associations advice to get the best deal during negotiations with property firms.

Ah fantastic then, that’ll sort it I’m sure. Time to really unleash the power of the Private Sector eh? They’ll save us.
I’m guessing their cronies are in the cheap, crappy new build trade.
Rich folk telling normal folk what’s affordable.
Oh boy.
Labour could do a Biggest Boost to anything at the moment, sitting on their hands. Can’t be worse than the Tories Actively Trying to govern.
You make housing affordable by building council house to be offered at reasonable rent. That will reduce the value of buy to let and disincentivise landlords
It is the buy to let/ investment property market that’s swallowing up all the houses We all know this. If you just keep building more for private ownership they will be in the hands of the property investment sector in the next fifteen years tops .
I mean given we are AT LEAST at a negative 18,000 social housing homes since tories have taken power 15 years ago and an average 73% rise in house prices over the last 10 years I’m not sure this is as much of a bold statement as they think it is.
They are doing this by selling off the greenbelt to developers (2,985 football pitches worth in Greater Manchester alone). We are being conned. Whilst I don’t agree with the methods of “just stop oil”, I agree with this:
“We remain convinced that politics is broken and the Labour Party are moral cowards,”.
Which they were under Corbyn too.
How could this possibly go wrong? Anywhere you look in British Politics you can just see a trainwreck about to happen. I don’t remember the last time I didn’t see one.
I can no longer trust anything they say. They keep announcing things then a couple of months later Starmer reneges on it..
O look Keith another one of your promises fucking off to the back of beyond you twat
