[“Most of Canada’s major allies have in recent months signed agreements with munitions suppliers to increase the monthly output of artillery rounds — mostly 155 millimetre ammunition, the kind used by Canada’s M-777 howitzers. The federal government has yet to reach its own deal to boost the supply of shells, the Commons defence committee was told Thursday.”](https://www.cbc.ca/amp/1.6988281)

No shit it’s urgent when you don’t do something and still need it a year and a half later. In normal times we have contracts to manufacture 3000 shells a month and had capacity to increase production.

We chose not to act on it.

I cut Canada a lot of slack because we aren’t a military power like some of our allies but god damn this has the appearance of a big missed opportunity.

  2. Canada understands that if Russia is not DEFEATED in Ukraine, Canada will later face off with an even more dangerous empirialistic Kremlin over the Arctic, later.
