Young driver crashed and killed her best friend, 18, when she was speeding and ‘clowning’ around just a month after passing her driving test

1. I’ll save you the click. She got a short suspended sentence. Gave no comment interviews to police.

   Meanwhile another reckless driver, this time a male, who also killed his female passenger got jailed for 8 years and 8 months.

   One of these sentences makes sense, the other does not.

2. the justice system needs a revamp, it shouldnt matter your gender everyone should do the same amount of time for the crime

4. The driver always survivors, is it the steering wheel? Put one in front of every seat.

5. There’s only 650 spaces left in UK prisons, the threshold for incarceration is much higher in 2023.

6. A boy killed 4 of my friends 3 days after passing his driving test after doing an “intense” driving course. It was 11 days after his 17 birthday. He had never driven a car until 11 days before he killed those 4 girls and over filled his car. I can never forgive him. It was 15 years ago and I think about it most days.

   I can also never forgive the fact we allow minors absolute freedom as long as they pass a 45min exam.

   His only punishment was a charge for careless driving and a two year driving ban.

7. How about we change the law and call deaths what they are, manslaughter.
   She never meant for her friend to die, but she did. And died as a direct result of the drivers actions.
   And sentence accordingly starting with say 12 years.
