Call todays attack whatever you want but don’t call it unprovoked. Israel has been constantly poking the bear with illegal settlements and killing Palestinians for throwing rocks. This is the natural reaction to that.
I really worry this is the direction the US is going. You can’t harass a group of people and not expect blowback. So all this GOP vitriol against blacks, gays, trans and immigrants will likely ignite as much here in the foreseeable future. You reap what you sow.
The conflict is a vicious cycle, but this sort of attack, especially as civilian centered as it was, will all but ensure next to no one in Israel supports a two state solution. Can’t say I blame them anymore
How long before the party of ‘no aid for Ukraine’ finds it in their hearts and wallets to want to send aid to Israel? The Biden administration is playing this, at least politically astute: show unwavering support for both Ukraine and Israel.
Not really a shock, expected given US foreign policy towards Israel and Palestine etc. for decades now.
Carter had the right idea on trying to maintain peace in the Middle East, IMO, on this front disappointed with Biden but I was with everyone before him too:
