  1. Some officials believe passing a single package, which could be as large as $100 billion, may give the Biden administration the best chance of securing funding for the war until after next November’s election.

“The ‘big package’ idea is firmly supported by many throughout the administration,” said a source familiar with discussions. “Supporters of Ukraine want this to be a one-and-done big bill, and then not have to deal with it until after the next election.”

  2. And it makes so much sense.

The United States has only two geopolitical adversaries. And everyone else depends on them. Russia and China.

Chinese culture is not prone to war as historically it has always led to civil wars, chaos, extreme corruption, and a general loss of political stability. China is rational, it is capable and often wants to negotiate for the sake of creating long-term systems and balances.

Therefore, only Russia remains. With a history filled with short-term power and status self-affirmations.

The more Russia can allow economically and politically push International Law – the more it wants to do it. And the more Iran, North Korea, Syria, as shown today – Hamas, can also allow it for themself.

Therefore, from the first days of the war it made sense not to “weaken” Russia with an exhausting war, which, as shown by almost 2 years of war, only gave Russia time to adapt. But crush it with sanctions and military assistance.

P.S. The incomprehensibility of Chinese culture is absolutely bulshitt. It is incredibly understandable and therefore predictable.

Thousand-year plans, Thirty-Six Stratagems (contradict each other and were created for the purpose of advertising “military experience”), and so on – status posturing.

There is no “high culture”. Only folk culture. Take the most popular Chinese novels and they contain the Chinese cultural code.

In Chinese novels there is often a scarcity and associated greed, clannishness, admiration for trade and any cunning (which is caused at times when the vast majority of the Chinese were engaged in harvesting rice, which is incredibly labor-intensive). But in also have a lot of empathy, emotional intelligence, self-reflection. Striving for long-term goals and balance.

If we take similar Russian literature, the main message in it is “I am the tsar and god.” A war with everything that contradicts the wishes of the author and his characters.
