It’s to rile up his base, they already think he didn’t lose last cycle despite losing by 7M votes and only winning 232 EVs in 2020 because the GOP is Trump by this point- obvious goal is goal. He also said they were stealing 2016 from him, not just this or 2024, playbook is the same as ever there.
And nearly the entire Republican party is complicit – even if just tacitly by not calling him out for his lies.

Allow me to translate Trump. Whenever he says something is “bad for the country” what he really means is “me (as in Donald trump). In fact if you simply substitute “the country” or “America” or “United States” for “me, Donald Trump” it all becomes quite clear and easy to understand. For example, when he says “this is the most important election in the history of the United States” what he is saying is both true and makes sense. It is the most important election for Donald Trump because if he loses, he is most surely going to prison as the broke old conman he is. For the rest of us, it is the most important election in the sense that what America is voting for is democracy vs a dictator. Trump will not leave office if he wins. And he will twist the government around enough to install people that will ensure he can. But for the rest of it, just practice hearing what he means and it’s a lot less crazy. He is ranting and raving because the long arm of the law is starting to catch up with him. It also wouldn’t surprise me to find out that insane moron thinks the health of the country is directly tied to him somehow. He is a psychopath.

With that said, I don’t agree with the facts of the title, didn’t they deem the 5 officer deaths to not be related and all to be natural (even the one where the officer was pepper sprayed) when they had their Jan 6th investigation before they recommended trump be incited for rebellion or insurrection?
