Cabinet to consider shorter isolation for Covid cases and close contacts due to work absences fear

  1. Sure, act like it isn’t a problem and then watch it further spiral out of control, wrecking their precious economy more than if they do nothing.

  2. Then they’ll complain when cases rise and panic into more restrictions, blaming the public yet again. It’s tiring at this point.

  3. Interesting to read all the comments disagreeing with this. There is a good chance essential retailers would have to close and supply chains are significantly disrupted if the rules don’t change. Someone who has isolated 5 days and has two negative antigens (as is the case now in UK) are likely safe to resume normal life

  4. Either covid is serious enough to keep people sick or potentially sick out or work or it’s not. Would want to be careful with the messaging on this one

  5. This will just result in getting more people sick. They are complete morons. If any of them canvass at my house next election, they will get an earful.

  6. This is 100% based on the US shortening their period to 5 days. But they should probably pay close attention to the fact that this was done because the CEO of Delta Airlines asked the CDC to do it. So hardly based on good science.

Here is a link if anyone is doubtful that this is what happened:

I’m also currently in the US so saw this nonsense happen in real time.

  7. ITT: lots of people claiming this suggestion is tantamount to murder.

Also ITT, lots of people who’ve no idea how a modern economy works and supplies us all what we need to live
