Russian tank somewhere in Ukraine

  1. This is probably highly effective against both fpv drones and crew survival rate in case of any other hit.

  2. Lol this is just sad, bet this tank will die from a mine

  3. On a serious note, this looks to be a cage designed for use on stationary tanks and for marches near/behind the front. There’s no way for the tank to actually rotate its turret with this thing on.

Guess fpv drones have become such a nuisance that they had to put this thing on just to store and move the tanks, while the danger of artillery or direct fire isn’t as high when on the move, mines likely aren’t a big issue in the rear of the front, and the tank likely wouldn’t be manned while stationary.

It’s not as stupid of an idea as it initially looks like. I still wouldn’t wanna get hit while having this cage on, as it does seem like a death trap in case of a hit.

  4. Russia reached Level 2. First Level was car tires. This Level is bird cage which seems like a big upgrade.

  5. They know the turret is supposed to be able to rotate, right?!

  6. “We heard you like cage on your tank so….”

So this is how Ukranians make their world famous ‘grilled tanker with split of lemon’!

  7. When the tank shoots, a giant flag comes out of the barrel with “Bam!” written on it.

  8. I feel like this would be great in the Australian outback to keep the flies away yet still catch a breeze

  9. In hindsight why did nobody see this coming? Switchblades, Lancets and the drone racing league were a thing long before this war. Why hasn’t any military prepared for the possibility that an adversary straps shaped charge warheads to racing drones?

  10. Stole a chicken coop from local babushka. Thieving bastards.

  11. So… crew can’t get out properly, and … can the turret even rotate with this?

  12. No wonder they ended up in the wrong place…

Their GLONASS systems won’t work right under that cage.

  13. When Ivan mixes up the instructions and build a Faraday cage.

  14. It’s probably only on the platoon leader’s tank. The cage degrades the tank’s fighting capability. The Russian army is running out of officers.

Also, the cage probably has poor survivability in the event of an drone attack. So, it might take two or three munitions to defeat the tank, compared to just one without the cage.

This probably an interim countermeasure while a better solution is being developed. Fortunately, for the Russian army, that could take years or event decades.

  15. “Despite all my rage,I am still just a Vlad in a cage”

  16. Does the whole thing come apart when the turret turns?
