I’ve collected about £20 of loose change which is pretty useless to me like this, I was wondering if anyone had any intuitive ways of using it other than buying odd bits or awkwardly cashing it in at the bank?

Most big supermarkets have a machine you pour it in, and it takes a cut before giving you a voucher to cash it for notes.
Remember the time in your life that you were looking for a little change.
Just go dump it in the coin counting machine at the bank. Don’t bother with the one at the supermarket which takes a cut

Drop it all into the self check out at the supermarket, and once you’ve used it all, you can pay whatever is left on card.
take a handful and throw it in one of the self service tills at the supermarket. You’ll find you end up putting less on your card.

Fill a tube sock with them and stash in your jacket pocket, it will be useful as a makeshift flail should you come across a Bully XL outside Farmfoods, whilst being easy to disassemble/dispose of should you be approached by the fuzz.
Go to a grocery story and use a coin star or something similar to convert it to cash?
