The calibration sticker is out of date. This could result in a conviction being overturned.
DMR Gardaà were conducting a speed checkpoint on the N2 this week when they spotted a car driving at a speed of 172km/hr in a 60km/hr zone.
The driver failed a roadside test for cannabis and cocaine consumption and was charged.

For speeding, maybe. Not for driving under influence.

It’s not non-calibrated. It’s overdue a calibration. Having been calibrated it would be easy to calibrate it now and find out if the recorded speed is accurate. If that’s not good enough for the judge then you still have dangerous driving and drug driving to fall back on.
I understand the concern but it also may be an old approved photo they’re using that they have filed
Their drug driving test for cannabis is faulty, they don’t calibrate their speeding guns.
What a joke.
