In the US market there’s [Wirecutter](https://www.nytimes.com/wirecutter), which is a really good source for product comparisons and detailed reviews.
What’s the best German equivalent? Is Stiftung Warentest as good as it gets? Are there better ones focused on household appliances and electronics specifically? Whenever I google “[product] test” the results seem to mostly just be referral link farms.
In general, what resources do you find helpful to make sure you’re not buying crap?

Yes, Stiftung Warentest is indeed the gold standard.
Edit: Ökotest gets silver. All the others have conflicts of interest in one way or another, mostly advertising revenues.
Apart from Stiftung Warentest, I actually find The Wirecutter useful in Germany too. Sometimes their exact top pick is available in Germany at a reasonable price; sometimes it’s unavailable, but there’s a very similar model available from the same manufacturer; and sometimes one of their alternative picks turns out to be easier/cheaper to find in Germany than their top recommendation.
amazon.de reviews + Fakespot can be handy too.
