I think people are overestimating the chance of US operations in the region. Resources, intelligence and coordination will definitely be provided, but I doubt the US starts sending stuff in when Israel is perfectly capable of turning Gaza into rubble if they wanted too. You also don’t want to kill your own people by accident. Let Israel take the lead on offense, focus on intelligence gathering and coordination and then maybe down the line go in if you think you can save some people. The realpolitik levels here are very high too. A lot happening behind the scenes, and if we are honest with ourselves, we know governments can “abandon” hostages in favor of solving other diplomatic issues.

I think prior to this information being disclosed a fair number of people in these countries were on the fence in who to support.
