If you were coming from boarding school maybe it wouldn’t be such a culture shock.
A guy I used to work with was in a room like this with two other randomers back in 2015.
He had to get up an hour before the other two Monday-Friday, so they eventually bullied him out of the room and replaced him with someone on the same schedule.
It’s not illegal as far as I know and is quite commonplace
Surely they could fit 3 bunk beds in there, fit 6 people instead of 3, just leaving money on the table
