  1. I’m not in the UK, but suggest you phone your local fire station anonymously and ask them what the procedure is for this. They may offer to come around and speak to the owner / manager of the building.

  3. Please do not just let this go. Is there a nominated fire warden for the company or site?

    This is the sort of careless shit that genuinely kills people.

  4. You can call the HSE or message them online to report breaches of HASWA stuff like this. It’s amazing the power their inspectors weald and how quickly they make your company fix stuff. I was a trade union safety rep previously and the HSE put the fear of God in the company.

  5. Fully illegal. Look on your local fire service’s website, there’ll be a number or a link to report a safety concern.
