It is very easy to tell by tasting them. Sloes are pretty disgusting while damsons are delicious.

Look like Bullaces to me. They’re bigger than sloes but not oval like Damsons.
Easiest way to tell between Bullaces and big Sloes is that Bullaces tend to grow in clusters whereas Sloes are in individual positions.
Yes, and they also make a good tipple steeped in gin with sugar for a few months, very similar to sloe gin but I find damson gin to have a slight menthol quality that I enjoy

Looks like Bullace. Damsons are usually larger, oval, and can be eaten as is, whereas anyone who’s had a sloe knows not to even attempt this. Bullaces are more similar to sloes in the flavour department.
Sloes are a much spinier bush than damsons and bullace too.
