  1. It’s baffling that there’s still people who will argue till they’re blue in the face that man made climate change is a hoax

  2. I remember back in January 2020 I was able to go out at 8pm without even a jacket on. It felt more like early April and was rather unsettling.

  3. Feels like so long since I saw a frosty morning. 10 years ago when I’d walk to school, the grass was always crisp with frost in January. I used to write my name out in the grass with my feet.

  4. I went for a walk today and it is the mildest it has been in months near me. I didn’t even need gloves and I wear them from around September/October due to bad circulation in my hands. We will see more months with unseasonable weather as the years go by, such as last year’s cold March or wet June, it may sound nice when there is more beach weather, however it is already causing issues with crops and will affect animal behaviour too. It’s a shame that COP26 was so namby-pamby and the measures agreed are too little too late.

  5. Just in case your mind had been too occupied with Covid and Brexit, here’s a reminder that even after those are sorted climate change will still be a major issue!

  6. As far as the ash tree in my back garden is concerned, it is early March, as ti is starting to bud.

    SW Cumbria.

  7. We recorded our highest December and highest January temperatures (in over 30 years of daily record keeping) these last two days.

Some of it is weather – there is a weather system sending us warm African air up from the SW. It will be much colder on Monday and Tuesday. But when you’re setting records, that likely means that climate is also in play. We’ve had warm air in December before, but not *this* warm.

Ed: You do have to be careful though, 2021 also had one of the coldest days on record (back in February)

  8. This is going to throw eco systems out, I saw wasps and what looked like bees flying around today. This is really bad news.
