In more serious matters, I dont think he wants to go home, not really, considering the rate that Russia punishes its men who were found to have surrendered.
Go back to Russia and you’ll either be thrown in prison, or beaten to an inch of your life for “cowardice”, or you’ll just be thrown back into service and be right back in the fighting
