1. It’s an interesting word, “locals.” It means people who live in some place. More or less like you do.

2. It’s sad, but climate scientists and ecologists have been warning of these for literal decades. I remember in primary school they were showing us (simplified) scenarios of deforestation of the Amazon rainforest and its consequences.

   Shame on the brazilian government for waiting too long.
