  1. A sad reminder that you can dedicate your life to helping the Palestinians, but you will always be a dirty Jew to them. Prayers for her safe return and her family.

  2. A fresh reminder that Palestinians are not interested in finding a peace with Israelis. They are interested in the destruction of Israel and committing any violence they can towards that goal.

  3. This is why I will never understand the blunt and reductive logic of “free Palestine.” There is no scenario where that doesn’t end in the genocide they claim Israel is committing. Israel’s biggest crime is attempting to build a conventional western democracy in a region that will not tolerate one. Maybe that alone is enough to doom it out of existence. There’s no doubt that in order to achieve that vision they’ve committed human rights abuses. But to condemn an entire nation to death for trying to curb attacks on its citizens will never make sense to me. Israel doesn’t attack Palestine unprovoked and never has. It has always targeted terrorists. They will probably lose the PR war anyway though.

  4. If Israel is going to temporarily annex and maintain Gaza, I wish they would fill all the governance roles with the people like her from both sides: who actively, deeply, personally care about justice, dignity, and peace.

  5. “You can do a lot good for the community but an infidel is always an infidel – destined to hell.” A quote from the well known preacher Zakir Naik.

  6. She is Canadian and I hope she can get back to Canada sooner than later. I’m sure the tunnels under Gaza are horrible places, even for peace activist working with Gaza.

  7. That’s horrible, I hope she’s found safe although I think that’s unlikely.

  8. Why don’t we hear such stories about the poor oppressed, dispossessed Palestinians? Can Israel buy the entire West’s sympathy?
