  3. They’re lashing out because their pet distraction is now going to turn around and bite them. The outlets that have platformed him all this time to raise his profile against Biden all have heavily Republican audiences. I think they’re realizing that means that they’ve been unintentionally giving him tons of free media to persuade REPUBLICANS to vote for him.

    This shit is the funniest story going today.

  17. He’s been funded by major GOP donors. I’d guess the primary assumption was that he would end up taking away Biden voters. But he mostly spouts ridiculous conspiracy theories and other policies that are largely supported by rightwing voters. This backlash now by Republicans must now be the assumption that polling data actually shows him taking away more GOP voters than Biden voters.

    $20 says RFK’s GOP donors tell him to not run as a 3rd party candidate pretty soon.

  22. He was supposed to run in the Democratic primaries against Biden and develop sympathy from Democratic voters, and then either run Green or Independent after running a long primary campaign exclusively attacking Biden.

  24. Haha I knew it. Republicans wanted him to spoil the Dem vote, but since Democrats clearly remember vividly what a fucking wacko he is about Covid, the 2020 election and just a myriad of other issues, he was **never** going to get the Dem vote.

    Ergo his choice to lean into running independent or 3rd party.

    Ergo *only then* do Republicans sour on him because their belief in him is closer to that of Democrat voters’ belief in him and now he stands to actually take votes from Republican voters who absolutely will not be voting for what is nearly-guaranteed to become an actually convicted felon running for office (Trump).

    Because, again, he also agreed on the wacko Covid shit and the wacko election lies.

    Which, **again,** NO Democrat was ever going to vote for. We were the ones who had to tolerate the looney tunes during the pandemic, we sure as shit didn’t forget that. Add onto that the wacko shit RFK Jr. says about the election?

    Yeah, of ***course*** Republicans would be pissed if he ran as ANYTHING but a Democrat, *because* much like Trump – *His actual stances on things are things that no Democrat would ever buy into, but* ***Republicans sure do!***

    They estimated (incorrectly) that all Democrats need is for there to simply be a D next to the name on the ballot. Sure, that’s what *Republicans* go with, but Dems don’t operate that way. RFK Jr. would never make it through to the candidacy for the Democrats. And since he knows for a fact he also wouldn’t make it through to the candidacy for Republicans (yaknow, trump and all), then it leaves only one real option left:

    the one he’s gearing up to take on. He’s going to siphon republican votes.
