I’ve been doodling this character (I think he’s called snoopy) since I was a kid, I’m 33, but I’ve no idea where he comes from… anybody?

That’s “Kilroy Was Here”.

I’ve updated it now with the traditional writing
Chad
I know him as Chad. Interesting wiki on him here:

Me mam always doodled him, he was always peeking over a little brick wall and then all over the page was peek a boo in all types of handwriting! Not seen him for years until now!
All the time when I’m on the phone
Was there a similar character called a what no?
kilroy was here
I’m not a ww2 vet so no
It’s one of the most famous graffiti doodles. So no mate probably just you
I recognise the character but haven’t doodled him. I am, however, finding your doodles of the brick work – and indeed your dotted note paper – supremely satisfying!
“Wat no” was his name when I was growing up.
Good video on it [here](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LTG7TYLE5vs).
