10 TV Spinoffs Better Than The Original, Ranked

  1. What a load of nonsense. Better Call Saul is a decent show that did however fell flat at the end. Breaking Bed on the other hand is perfect from pilot to finale.

  2. Here were my picks that I didn’t see on the list:

    CSI: MIAMI

    DEGRASSI: NEXT GENERATION

    LAVERNE & SHIRLEY

    XENA: WARRIOR PRINCESS

    BOSTON LEGAL

  3. Better Call Saul had overall better writing than Breaking Bad, but it wasn’t as consistently good. Gilligan leaned pretty heavily into the slow burn for BCS, and that pacing wasn’t always ideal. I think they should have teased the Gene story a lot more during the series which would have made the last season more impactful.

Both are amazing shows, but Breaking Bad sits atop the mountain mostly thanks to Cranston and Paul.

  4. Frasier wasn’t better than Cheers, Angel wasn’t better than Buffy, BCS want better than BB. I’ll give them The Simpsons over The Tracy Ulman Show, those are so far apart most people don’t even know The Simpsons was a spinoff.

  5. Law & Order SVU is hot garbage. L&O had realistic, believable characters and believable cases, even when they weren’t “ripped from the headlines”. SVU was ok in the beginning, but then devolved into a caricature of itself. It’s such hammy melodrama. CI was better.

  6. The Flash is definitely not better than Arrow. The Flash is basically a cartoon. I’d argue this one is objectively worse.

I found Better Call Saul to be extremely boring. I couldn’t make it past a few episodes and never got interested later when I tried to jump back in. I made it all the way through Breaking Bad and thought it was amazing, though.

  7. Second time I saw this article today. First was when my Trekkie friend lost his fucking mind when he read TNG was better than the Original Series and Deep Space Nine.

He really loves Deep Space Nine.

  8. I *loved* better call Saul – but it’s a close #2 to Breaking Bad.

Still brilliant – but Breaking Bad is IMO the greatest TV show of all time
