No one is against aid to Israel. Some people just don’t want Ukraine to get money for some reason we can all see plain as day.
What has been interesting to me about the Republican Party has been the change from this loud Christian morality to authoritarianism. Before the Israel thing, especially combined with war, would be a political windfall for the GOP. Now though they have cultivated such a Nazi problem with the MAGA base that they are fumbling the ball on easy political points.
The U.S. sent $3B of aid to Israel this year, and the country is sitting on another $2B of U.S.-provided arms and ammunition for emergency defense. Israel has requested specific aid in the aftermath of the attack, and the resources needed are funded and either already in place or on their way. The crisis in the House is serious, but aid to Israel is not currently in peril, and Newsweek is fanning the flames of public ire by failing to make that clear.
And they’ll blame it on Biden.

Now Hawley and the rest of the Muscovy Caucus are onboard with DIVERTING weapons from Ukraine to Israel, when they are simply two fronts on the same war against Russian imperialism. Hamas made a grave mistake in choosing allies and the scope and brutality of violence and sex crimes during this attack has really clarified things for the American left-95% of Democrats want to see Hamas vaporized. It wouldn’t surprise me one bit to see MAGA factions start supporting Hamas over the next few weeks.

Honestly what military aid does Israel actually need? They’ve been planning for decades and are a technological peer of the US in conventional weapons. They already have F35s, and the Markava and Namer armor systems. They developed Trophy that the US licenses.
I’m all for sending humanitarian aid, just don’t know what military aid they would need, unless it was back filling supplies they sent to Ukraine.
