  1. At least this is a far better idea than payday loans and similar. You can’t end up in a debt spiral with a pawnbroker.

  3. Yeah, they won’t get a good deal there, but I guess they may have no choice.

    I remember when my old man was out of work for a time, he ended up pawning two air rifles of his. Got £50 quid each for them (Webley models). I offered to buy them with the option of him paying me back later but he wouldn’t hear of it. A real shame as they were nice rifles.

I don’t understand how anyone out there can be looking at all this – the rise in people depending on food banks, parents skipping meals, the desperate state of the nhs, people selling their possessions – and think “Yeah, what this nation needs is more tax cuts for the wealthy, that’s what’s missing”
